Named for their first known sighting on Cape Barren island, these unique looking geese with grey plumage, rounded black spots and unusual decurved beak with yellow cere can be seen on farmland around Lake Alexandrina and on Hindmarsh island. I have usually spotted their up to 1000 mm long bodies flying in formation or resting near water troughs on farmland.
