The more reticent and less common of the Bronzewings, the Brush Bronzewing flew from out of the hedge rows of Cheynes Bay, WA and directly in front of my lens. The dull light of an unusually overcast summer captured clarity without graininess.
I have never seen a species examine me so intently, the guarded one of the pair in the photo flew into the hedgerow and back out again at sternum pumping pace.
